GHRP-2 (Pralmorelin) is a synthetic hexapeptide that stimulates growth hormone release through the ghrelin receptor. More potent than GHRP-6 with less appetite stimulation. Typical dose: 100-300mcg injected 2-3 times daily.
GHRP-2 is a synthetic peptide that acts as an agonist at the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a). Unlike the natural ghrelin hormone, GHRP-2 is more stable and selective for GH release.
GHRP-2 binds to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHSR-1a), the same receptor activated by the hunger hormone ghrelin. This triggers intracellular signaling that leads to GH release from the anterior pituitary.
GHRP-2 acts directly on the pituitary somatotrophs to release GH — this is different from GHRHs (like Sermorelin) which act on the hypothalamus. The result is a more robust GH spike.
GHRP-2 does increase appetite, but less than GHRP-6. The appetite effect is ghrelin-mimetic but more moderate. This can be beneficial for bulking but may be unwanted for cutting protocols.
Like all GHRPs, GHRP-2 can elevate cortisol and prolactin at higher doses. This is typically manageable at standard doses (100-200mcg). Stacking with a GHRH can reduce the required GHRP dose.
Understanding the differences between the three main GHRP peptides helps you choose the right one for your goals.
